memories today of being sick as a child
laying on our green couches
blanket over lap, crayola drawing pad, pbs
sprite and toast
mom calls on her lunch to check up on me and bring me soup
school worries and dramas fade away
it’s just me and mark kistler and our dinosaurs

i still am shocked, but i’m actually proud of this sketchbook already. I hope I can keep it up, but i’m not intimidated for some reason. it’s… really awesome. i’m using it as something like a journal, too. some pages’ art have “entries” around them.

but i still keep just drawing stardew valley stuff :D

I was having trouble with a page in my sketchbook. like, erased and drew 10 separate sketches. finally, i gave up, and just dedicated the page to writing down art ideas when i have them but don’t have the time/resources to make them yet.

turned the page, moved on, felt good

once i move my desk into my room i’m kind of considering buying an electric kettle so i can brew tea upstairs without needing to come downstairs to do it
and maybe keep my french press up there for coffee, too?

I hope that in 2017 you will keep making art and doing your best, even when you don’t see progress for a while

things to do today:

-swallow the guilt and submit your last withdrawal form
-remind myself a $200 fee and the partial term charge is worth my happiness
-play a lot of video games because i need to 

things i am excited to do once i get things rolling with operation : cool bedroom

-organize and catalogue all my art supplies 
-have a chill reading/art zone 
-buy a cute and comfy chair or something to snuggle up in
-decorate the walls with art 
-do yoga in there
-lay on the floor and listen to records while staring  at the ceiling 

confession: i still really want an ipad pro and apple pencil for making digital arts. maybe more now than ever? but $$$ and now i’ve got to pay back all my student loans soooo maybe in 10 years

today’s shopping list

-candle supplies
-new sketchbook
-some pitt pens in various sizes (for both art and for my hobonichi weeks because I just can’t get into ballpoint pen, even with the amazing jetstream ink)

M and I are going to Michael’s today to get jars for candles and maybe scents and whatnot (yes my adorable fella really likes making candles and gets excited about it and i love it)

but you KNOW i’m going to stop and get a new sketchbook. my current one is almost filled but I am entering a new period of my life now and I kind of want to have a new sketchbook to go along with it

it’ll be mostly SDV stuff but I kinda want to cover it in cute stickers and maybe do some diary comics

but also I’m determined to make lil comics for stardew valley as I play along with my new farmer which I’ll probably post on my stardew valley blog : @strangebun

So actually I’m not going to be doing studyblr posts since, well, I’m not pursuing an art education anymore at this time. Yes, it’s still something I love and will do in life, but for many reasons I’ve decided to pursue it on my own path.

But I still love my planners so I’m sure I’ll still post about them
